RIO DE JANEIRO -- The man named to head Irelands Olympic committee after its president was arrested in a ticket-scalping case during the Rio Games is also suspected of participating in the scheme but left Brazil before he could be questioned, police said Tuesday.Authorities said William OBrien, who took responsibility for the Irish committee after Patrick Hickey was detained last week, departed from Brazil one day before authorities obtained a warrant to seize his passport and mobile devices in a Sunday raid. There are a lot of messages mentioning William OBrien along with Patrick Hickey, Aloysio Falcao, one of the investigators in the case, said after a news conference.Falcao said Brazilian investigators will be requesting help from the Irish government.Hickey, president of the Olympic Council of Ireland and a member of the International Olympic Committees executive board, is being held in Rios Bangu prison complex as the investigation expands.Charged with conspiracy, ticket scalping and ambush marketing, Hickey is accused of plotting with other members of the Ireland committee and two companies to sell tickets above face value in a scheme that authorities say could have netted about $3 million in profits. More than 1,000 tickets have been seized in the investigation.Authorities say the Irish company Pro 10 Sports Management was created to facilitate the transfer of tickets between that countrys committee and an unauthorized vendor called THG Sports that would sell them for high fees disguised as hospitality services. THG Sports was accused of a similar scheme in the World Cup.Investigators determined last week that the choice of Pro 10 as the authorized ticket reseller for Ireland was a joint decision by the Irish committee. On Sunday, hours before the Rio Games closing ceremony, police executed search warrants at the Olympic Village to seize passports and other items from three members of the Ireland committee, including Ireland team leader Kevin Kilty, chief executive Stephen Martin and secretary-general Dermot Henihan.Police confiscated 228 tickets for the ceremony from Kiltys room.Henihan appeared at police headquarters Tuesday to answer questions, and investigators said there was no evidence to link his involvement in the alleged scheme.Kilty and Martin had been expected to also testify Tuesday, but officials said their lawyers had asked for a postponement to have more time to review documents in the case. The investigation has been unfolding since the Olympics began Aug. 5, when the head of THG Sports was arrested with tickets allocated to the Olympic Council of Ireland. The council declined to comment Tuesday. Featherweights Miguel Marriaga and Guy Robb will meet in a world title elimination bout Aug. 27 at the Churchill County Fairgrounds in Fallon, Nevada, Top Rank vice president Carl Moretti told ESPN.com on Thursday. The fight will headline Top Ranks Solo Boxeo Tecate card (UniMas, 11 p.m. ET/PT), with the winner earning a mandatory world title fight against the winner of the Oscar Valdez-Matias Adrian Rueda bout, which will take place on the Terence Crawford-Viktor Postol undercard July 23 (HBO PPV) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.Valdez (19-0, 17 KOs) and Rueda (26-0, 23 KOs) will meet for the 126-pound world title recently vacated by Vasyl Lomachenko, who moved up in weight and knocked out Roman Rocky Martinez in the fifth round June 11 to win a junior lightweight world title.Marriaga (23-1, 19 KOs), of Colombia, fought for a vacant featherweight world title last June but lost a unanimous decision to Nicholas Walters, who had been stripped of the belt the day before the fight for failing to make weight..ddddddddddddSince the loss, Marriaga, 29, has won three fights in a row, albeit against nondescript opposition. The 27-year-old Robb (18-1, 8 KOs), of Sacramento, California, has won 11 fights in a row since a seventh-round knockout loss to Joel Diaz Jr. in a meeting of prospects in January 2012.Marriaga came back from the loss to Walters by winning. He earned his way back by being active and getting three wins in a row, Moretti said. Robb is a guy who really, really wants this opportunity to fight for the No. 1 position. The Marriaga-Robb winner probably will not get the title fight in the next bout because the mandatory title fight wont be due yet.Whether its the next fight or not, this fight is on national TV, and it will create some interest in the winner fighting the Valdez-Rueda winner, Moretti said. People will see it, and you build up the title fight when it is due. ' ' '
