As the minor leagues begin their championship rounds this week, the season, while officially not over -- we are looking at you El Paso -- has basically wrapped up for 2016. Although perhaps not as star-studded as the 2015 class, about three-quarters of our preseason list received some taste of caffeine, ranging from Corey Seagers dazzling full pot of coffee to Richie Shaffers disappointing spot of tea. While the mines in places like Iowa and Reno have closed for the winter, there are still gems to be found. The difference is they are now in bigger cities and in plain view of a larger number of prospectors. Take for example Willson Contreras. The catcher-turned-outfielder-turned-catcher ranked 47th on our initial ranking. He tore through the minor leagues, flew up our weekly list and made his debut in the middle of the summer. Things have cooled down since his dazzling debut, but the 24-year-old is still hitting .263/.340/.447 with 21 extra-base hits (nine home runs) while splitting time between left field and catcher; eligibility that makes him quite the bench player at just around 50 percent ownership.More recently, Seth Lugo, he of the spin rates that make the Rubberband man jealous, has been the big apple of several fantasy eyes. Also with ownership around the half-century mark, he figures to get a little less than a handful of chances down the stretch as he fills in for the underachieving and undermanned Mets staff. If we set the bar right where those two players are at -- hovering around 50 percent owned -- and look slightly below, there are at least a dozen or so useful rookies that can help during this final push toward a championship. With that in mind, here are 10 names still worthy of your consideration and how and where they can help.*Note the percentage of ownership is as of the night of Sept. 12.1.
